Heritage Hallstatt

My room had a wonderful view of the lake and mountains. It was in a different building from the main hotel, about a 10-minute walk away, though the staff did help carry my luggage over. The room was old but comfortable, with basic toiletries and amenities. Breakfast had an excellent range of choices. The front desk and reception employees weren’t friendly or particularly mannerly. One kind gesture came at departure: I’d left my coat in the luggage room while leaving Halstatt, and the hotel shuttle driver brought it to the bus stop just a few minutes before my bus left.

That winter night at Heritage Hotel Hallstatt was so peaceful and comfortable that we didn’t want to leave. The lake view and quiet surroundings made it feel especially lovely in the cold weather. We spent time in the sauna, enjoyed the tea and coffee selection, then had a bath afterward. Breakfast was generous and delicious, a great start to a chilly morning. A memorable, relaxing stay.

We stayed in the Stocker house, the hotel’s second building, which is a historic castle. I’d highly recommend that building. The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was very clean and comfortable. My only complaint was that the bed could have been more comfortable.

The room was very clean, with a spacious bedroom and a huge balcony. The view from the room was absolutely beautiful. Service varied: some staff were great, while others were average, but we had a good experience overall.
