W & S Executive Apartments - Hallstatt I

We reached the unit at 16:20 on June 23rd, but the building was locked and the owner wouldn't answer. We'd called several times, and some neighbors tried reaching him for us too, without luck. They told us this happens often. We had to contact several nearby hotels before finding somewhere for the night, and the hotel we stayed at said they regularly hear from people in the same situation. The owner had taken the money from our account on May 22nd. Earlier, at 15:27, we'd called as instructed to say we were on our way, and he told us to call again when we arrived. Do not book with this owner. He'll take your money and provide no service.

Very rude. The country went into lockdown, but he still wouldn't refund me or accept different dates, even though I was willing to lose money. Then he said he was fine with refunding me two days before the booking, but wouldn't accept the cancellation and marked me as a no-show. Look somewhere else if you want to stay in Hallstatt. He also gets Google to delete reviews he doesn't agree with.

The tap water is amazingly good mountain spring water, and the chalet itself is cozy with a superb layout. It's a fantastic wooden place, great for a group of friends and pretty close to Hallstatt and the lake.

I cancelled my bookings after reading the poor reviews. Thanks to everyone who posted them.
