The new room still had brown water, and whenever we used the sink it leaked across the bathroom floor. Staff also brought over the blankets from our previous room, where we had found bed bugs in the sheets. The water temperature swung between scalding and freezing, with nothing in between. They did move us after we reported the first room, though. In that first room, we found a large red stain under the bed and bed bugs in the sheets. The water was yellow-brown, and cigarette smoke filled the halls and rooms despite the no-smoking signs everywhere. The bowling alley and bar had both closed hours before their stated closing time. We check hotel rooms for cleanliness as a routine. I can't recommend this hotel. At €100 a night, it was nowhere near worth the price, even with its 3-star rating.

The management made us feel welcome, and the place was comfortable, clean, and updated. I'm glad I checked the recent reviews. I'd highly recommend it for families.

There wasn't much to do nearby if you skipped the optional activities, though the location was pleasant for an Austrian countryside stay. Our Cost Saver tour rooms were spacious, the bathrooms had been modernized, and breakfast was just OK.

We couldn't open the balcony door because it was covered with bugs, and the hotel was very hot with no air conditioning. The shower wouldn't drain, which was disgusting. At 7:45 a.m., a cleaner walked into our room without knocking and found my husband not fully dressed. Our checkout was apparently at 9 a.m., which felt insane given that check-in was in the afternoon. I was on a Cost Saver tour and stayed here on June 9. The next morning I woke with a huge irritation on my neck and bug bites. I'm now going to have to see a doctor to find out what bit me and caused such a reaction. A really, really bad experience.
