This was my third time at the Bio Ring Hotel Hartberg, and I came away more than satisfied again. The leisure program is varied and highly recommended, with most activities free: yoga, meditation, line dancing, sauna ceremonies, and lectures. Walking paths start right at the hotel, Hartberg’s old town is an easy 40-minute walk, and other nearby destinations are simple to reach by car. Still, the place is so enjoyable that I didn’t feel like going anywhere else. The staff are friendly and very capable, and they deal with any request right away. The spa area was tastefully renovated in December 2024. The food is outstanding: the chef and team make imaginative menus from regional organic products. Vegetarian dishes are the main focus, though fish and meat are served several times a week. Breakfast is a highlight, with a vegetarian buffet and bread from the hotel’s own bakery, as well as a “classic” buffet with plenty to choose from. Hildegard von Bingen’s teachings are valued in the cuisine and at the lovely tea bar, where 10 specially blended herbal teas are available all day.

I spent two weeks here taking time out for myself, and enjoyed it thoroughly. You can feel that everyone wants to make your stay just right. They put care into everything, from the food, massages, and exercise classes to the decor and advice on any topic. If you want to treat yourself, this is a health retreat. It’s not a spa hotel, so you might describe it as old but well maintained. I’ll be back!

Everything was top-notch and spotlessly clean. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and mindfulness is clearly part of how things are done here. The nudist terrace is fantastic too. You can tell they’re putting an excellent concept into practice. We’ll be back.
