We booked a camping pitch through roadsurfer for one night, and it was just right for a short stop. Even though it was peak season, the pitch was ours alone, with a toilet and power for one motorhome. The host made us feel welcome, and the views were gorgeous. At 1500 meters above sea level, it gets chilly at night even in summer. With almost no air pollution around, we could also see The Milky Way.

The drive up is worth keeping in mind: the road is somewhat steep and narrow, though we managed without any trouble. Once there, the view towards Großglockner was awesome, and the hostess was lovely and welcoming. Everything was perfect.

Katrin was really helpful, and she speaks English. The mountain views are beautiful, and there's a pleasant walking road right by the house that works with a baby stroller too. We had a great stay and would recommend it. Hope to return for longer next time.

That view is worth a million dollars to me. The house and place were fabulous, and dinner tasted delicious and homemade. We drove 410 kilometers for a single night, and it was worth the trip.

We were headed farther up the mountain to a small Hütte when a wind storm came in, and were lucky to find a room at the Ferirnhof Oberer Gollmitzer. The owners were kind and helpful, and the room felt modern and thoughtfully laid out. Thanks for looking after us and making the stay so good despite the storm.
