Panoramahotel Lärchenhof

We booked for 11-12 August 2025. Soon after check-in, while we had only put our bags in the room and hadn’t had a chance to use it, my wife suddenly became critically ill. She was flown straight to hospital from the hotel by emergency medical helicopter. While she was being prepared for transport, I was extremely stressed. I asked reception to refund the unused room and checked out right away so I could follow her, first watching the ambulance helicopter take her away, then driving after it by car. Neither of us spent the night or used the booking at all. The hotel refused to refund anything and coldly told me to “contact Booking.com,” even though the booking confirmation said free cancellation. Afterwards, nobody from the hotel contacted us to ask whether my wife was alright. They took the money, but showed no decency, empathy, or human concern. The way they acted during a medical emergency was inhumane, greedy, and heartless. A place that treats guests like this doesn’t deserve anyone’s trust or business.

Right in the middle of Heiligenblut, this is a very cozy hotel with wonderful hosts who are welcoming and take care of requests. It’s close to the ski resort, with a large parking area, a ski room, and both dry and wet saunas. Breakfast is abundant and the dinner choices are fancy. It’s not your average mountain villa, and we had a truly great experience.

We were happy to have an elevator and convenient parking after driving the Großglocknerstraße. The staff made us feel very welcome, and breakfast was excellent. Our comfortable room had a lovely view, and the cowbells and church bells lulled us to sleep. We loved staying here and look forward to coming back.

I stayed on half board, and both meals were delicious, especially the amazing dinners. Everything was superb.
