We were pleasantly surprised by the bill. The food was very good value, and I’d recommend Senger for a relaxed meal with good friends. We drove a short way up the hill after spotting it online while looking for a nice restaurant near the end of the summer season, when good options were getting harder to find. We were welcomed and seated in a quiet corner. The atmosphere felt relaxed and typically Austrian country style, with solid wooden tables and a view of the sunset’s red sky. Our white wine was excellent with the meal. The venison was excellent, the cordon bleu very good, and the zander nicely spiced and not overcooked.

The interior is my favorite part, warm, classy, inviting, and full of history, with different rooms where children can roam. The service is kind and quick, and the cheese fondue is simply unbeatable. The fondue dinner we had at Senger on February 15 this year was memorable and delicious. We can no longer afford to stay overnight here, but whenever we visit Heiligenblut we try to come for fondue. I’m so glad we got the chance to come again, and I hope we can dine here in the future. What a treat!

The romantic suite was spacious, clean, well equipped, and had a superb balcony overlooking the Großglockner. We booked half board and enjoyed very well cooked local and international dishes in the evening, plus a nicely balanced breakfast. The helpful, friendly staff did everything they could to make our stay perfect. It’s only a short walk from town, with hiking routes starting right outside. The restaurant, room, garden, and surroundings were all wonderful. We’ve visited Heiligenblut several times, but this was our first time at Hotel Senger. The hosts made us feel welcome straight away, and that home away from home feeling only grew. A great place for a short or long stay. We’ll certainly return to this little paradise.

Hotel Senger is my second home. The rooms are cozy and relaxing, and the books are little gems for the soul. The staff are so warm-hearted. Whenever I’m here in Heiligenblut, I have magic moments. Andreas, Bizi, and the staff and friends always have a room in my heart ✨💖✨
