Gasthaus zum Fuchs - Familie Andrä

The late check-in was the one real problem. Our confirmed 3pm arrival time didn’t work out, and we waited nearly an hour outside the house. Luckily it wasn’t too cold or raining, but nobody was there and we couldn’t reach anyone by phone. The connected restaurant opened at 4pm, and a woman there found the keys so we could get into our rooms. The booking.com information should be updated if the timing has changed, or guests should be told in advance about delays. Apart from that, the rooms were modern and very nice, the owners pleasant, and the nights quiet. Breakfast was great, and it’s a good base for exploring the area. There’s a lovely 1.5-hour, 5.5km walk around the lake, and the lakeside restaurant is nice for a snack or supper. We especially liked the veggie burger.
