The smoke smell was the biggest problem for us. The apartment reeked when we arrived, even though indoor smoking isn’t allowed, and soon our clothes and belongings smelled too. We asked right away to move, but it was fully booked, so with two small children we had no real alternative. The host came by and agreed the smell was strong; all they offered was toilet freshener and later an Airwick spray, which didn’t seem enough. We suggested waiving the cleaning fee, but it had already been paid and they said tax rules meant they couldn’t refund it. They offered a discount on a future stay, though we won’t be back. Communication was friendly, but the host and owner didn’t find a suitable solution together. The apartment was spacious enough for our family and the beds were okay. The basics were usable, but the kitchen was tiny and poorly equipped: just two burners, barely enough room for two pans, no lids, and no spatula or stirring spoon. Cooking was awkward. We also noticed loose bathroom tiles and a cabinet covering a hole in the wall that looked like repaired damage, which didn’t give a maintained impression. Check-in wasn’t clearly set up at the property; we had to go to Loravita, where they advised us to pay the cleaning fee then so we wouldn’t have to deal with it before leaving. For people with few expectations it may work as a simple base, but families who care about upkeep, hygiene, and a smoke-free place should keep these issues in mind.

Bergland Residence makes it easy to mix skiing with après-ski. You’re right by the slopes, and ski passes and buses are easy to get to. It has what you need for a straightforward stay at a fair price, and works well for a weekend with friends or a self-catering trip. An affordable ski break with plenty of fun. 👍

The building’s location, elevator, balcony, and ski storage were the few positives. Inside, the apartment was dirty when we arrived, with stained bed linen and dirty furniture. Toilet seats, doors, lamps, and furniture were broken; there were damaged door frames and missing doorknobs. Dishes and glasses were missing, the cutlery set was incomplete, and there were no towels, soap, or household basics. I may have missed something, but this was a complete disaster and nowhere near worth the price. For €60 more per night, nearby hotels are much more attractive. There’s a heated room just for skis and boots, and the nearest tow bar is only about 150 meters away. For a budget group, that’s handy. The beds were okay and the shower was fine, but the stove only fits one pan at a time and some chairs sag a bit. The price is good, so keep expectations in line with what you pay. It’s fine on a low budget, but not if you’re after luxury.

The location’s the only decent thing about this rundown place. Nearly everything is broken or about to give way: chairs missing legs or with broken backs, bed slats that collapse when you lie down, dirty mattresses, and kitchen utensils missing. Even the shower seems made for dwarves.
