Sturmgut Berghof

We booked half board and loved the food: a generous breakfast buffet and a three course set dinner. The owner kept checking that we had enough and brought more whenever we asked. Breakfast is served from 8-10 AM, dinner at 18:30. Homemade eggs from the local hens and cakes baked in house were perfect in the morning. The ginger cat was such a sweetheart, often sleeping on a chair during meals, and we loved petting her. There are also cows, lamas, two dogs, and two pigs. The whole family run guesthouse has a warm, friendly feel, and the owner made us feel welcome throughout. Everyone was lovely, including the Slovak speaking cleaners. The valley and mountain views are breathtaking. It’s a perfect base for hikes, lakes, and anyone who loves nature. We loved everything and will gladly return. Highly recommended, and thank you for everything!

I loved the friendly staff and the tasty food. The place itself is pleasant, and the ski slope is close by. The wood heated sauna has a special feel to it, with the fire crackling nearby, and it gets very warm, which is perfect if you like it hot.

The whole family, including babies and pets, is welcome at Berghof Sturmgut, right by the ski slope, with astonishing views of the Totes Gebirge mountains. Even on rainy summer days, we had plenty to enjoy, thanks to the children’s facilities and the friendly dogs wandering around. Rainer’s extraordinary hospitality and sense of humor, along with the professional, friendly team, made the stay great. Breakfast was full and varied, and dinner brought the taste of Austria with local dishes. We’d definitely return.

The views and surroundings are beautiful, and the accommodations were clean. Service was very friendly, and the food was delicious. I’d absolutely come back!
