Haus Mader

The hostess made us feel so welcome, chatting with us and leaving homemade Christmas cookies when we arrived. She even brought a small bottle of sparkling wine for New Year's. The ski bus stop is only a few meters away, and we’d happily stay again when we're back in the Zillertal Valley. Our ground-floor apartment at Haus Mader was spacious, with its own terrace and a modern kitchen equipped with everything we needed. We could use the boiler room as a private drying room, and the hillside setting gave us fantastic valley views. We spent New Year's in the Zillertal Valley and felt completely at home.

The owner was warm and helpful throughout our stay. She doesn’t speak English, so we used Google Translate to communicate. She also gave us a Zertal card for discounts on Zertal events, though we didn’t use it. We rented the ground floor of this two-story cabin. There are two bedrooms, but one was closed since there were only two of us, plus a separate bathroom with a shower. The living room has a counter, and the fully equipped kitchen includes an oven, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. There’s also a laundry room with a washer and dryer. We had a private balcony overlooking the small garden. The garden is shared with the upstairs, but because the cabin sits on a slope, the two floors aren’t directly visible to each other. There’s a private parking space right outside. The internet is a little weak, though that wasn’t an issue for us because we had our own connection. There’s no supermarket or restaurant nearby, so you’ll need to drive. There’s no air conditioning, but the weather is lovely and we didn’t need it.
