Arabella Jagdhof Resort am Fuschlsee, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

Dajana made breakfast one of our favorite parts of the trip. Her warm smile each morning, made-to-order omelettes and pancakes, and extra touches like coloring books and games for our four daughters made us feel so welcome. She even took a family photo with the mountains behind us. We’d love to return for that hospitality. We visited in early November, before the holiday rush, and found the lakeside resort peaceful and welcoming for children, with a playground, playroom, and kids’ menu. The room Wi-Fi was inconsistent, though, and could be much better away from the lobby. We had a lovely, relaxing vacation.

We had a wonderful time, even though service could be funny at times when newer staff were still finding their feet. There are some really first class people there, and I know staff are hard to find at the moment. Just make sure your requests reach the right person. The location and spa are both top notch. Parking is free, but during busy periods you may have to hunt for a spot in the open lot. We enjoyed our stay anyway.

The bartender Alice saved our evening by letting us eat quickly before the other guests arrived. A big thank you to her. We had come for Valentine’s Day on friends’ recommendation, and this was our first and last visit. The hotel hadn’t responded to the contact details we left in advance, so on arrival we learned dinner at the restaurant wasn’t an option. The receptionist suggested reserving a table at the bar, but when we got there at the agreed time, there was no table because reception hadn’t passed along the information. We were then told to eat in our room. When we asked about room service, the answer was no. We were instructed to collect food ourselves at the bar and carry it upstairs. I’ve honestly never had an experience like that.

We stayed in a lovely two-floor apartment overlooking the grounds and Fuschlsee lake. The food was a real treat, with fine dining that spoiled us, and the attentive staff looked after us so well. Janos, Diana, Adam and Lucca all went out of their way to make our stay special. Danke schön! We hope we can return soon. Auf Wiedersehen!
