Achrainer-Moosen

The children were in their element, helping with the barn chores, feeding the dwarf goats, cows, calves, cats, geese, and chickens, and even getting to ride on the tractor. There were toys to play with too, and they could explore the farm whenever they liked. We parents got to enjoy the calm, relaxed atmosphere while they had their fun. We were a family of five with children aged 5, 7, and 8, and spent a lovely week here during the October school holidays. The Achrainer family made us feel welcome straight away and were wonderful with the kids. Their tips helped us plan lots of outings in the Kitzbühel Alps, including child-friendly hikes to the Grießbachklamm gorge and the Schleier waterfall, as well as visits to Kaiserwelt, Westendorf, and Hohe Salve. The apartment is modern, comfortable, and furnished to a high standard. The farm is peaceful, with a beautiful mountain view right outside. Breakfast made with fresh farm produce was delicious. Achrainer Moosen was a perfect autumn stay for our family, and we'd love to return.

The Achrainer family made our holiday feel really special. The apartments are lovely and have everything you need. There was plenty to keep the children busy too, from the trampoline, swings, slide, and sandbox to feeding the animals and going on tractor rides. We wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

We went in the fall and could visit all the nearby theme parks of the Wilder Kaiser. They’re a good way to get kids keen on hiking, and the ski areas are easy to reach too. The host family were incredibly friendly, and the rooms were clean and lovely. The kids especially enjoyed bringing the cows in from the pasture. It was great to see how well the cows live, which isn't something you get to see on every farm.

The children were especially excited to collect their own breakfast eggs from the henhouse. We also enjoyed the fresh produce at breakfast each morning, with the farm surrounded by alpine meadows and mountains. There was plenty of room for the kids to play and explore, and they loved the rustic but comfortable rooms. The accommodation worked really well for our family. During the week we hiked to nearby alpine pastures, admired the views, splashed in clear mountain streams, and baked bread and cooked together. The farmer's wife patiently explained sustainable farming and organic cultivation. We learned about growing vegetables and caring for animals, as well as the region's culture and traditions. It was a relaxing, educational week, and the children came away with memories they'll keep. From the moment we arrived, the farming family made us feel very welcome. Our week on the organic farm was a dream for the whole family, and we'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic, enriching holiday.
