Breakfast had a fairly small selection, though everything was very good and they made eggs each morning just the way we wanted. The nearest shop and restaurant are quite a long way off, but the hotel shuttle worked well for getting to and from the ski area. We also enjoyed the spa, and the staff were kind. It’s a small hotel about a 15-20 minute walk from the city centre. We had a really pleasant five-day stay.

At checkout, I was hit with an unexpected €200 charge. When I arrived at night, the female host told me to park in the garage without mentioning any extra cost. The booking website clearly said parking was free, but the host seemed to have her own rules. At check-in the next morning, she still didn’t mention the garage fee of €15 or the breakfast charge of €19.80. I only found out when the charges went on my card as I was leaving. On two of the four days, my room wasn’t serviced and the rubbish was left there for no reason. Never stay at this hotel.

I’ve been coming back to Gipfelherz every year since it first opened, sometimes several times in one season. The rooms have loads of space, and the team at Gipfelherz always makes me feel welcome and at home, even on holiday. They’re so friendly and warm. I’ve had some of my best stays here and will keep coming back. Keep it up, Team Gipfelherz!

The staff were completely rude to me. They yelled at me after I moved my car, even though I had a second set of keys with me. They require one set to stay at reception because they double-park the cars, so you depend on their bus to get into and out of town. That attitude is unacceptable for a business like this.

The wellness facilities were a real standout, and the ski shuttle is handy. The restaurant was good too. For the quality, the price was high.
