We stayed for a week with 10 people and had a wonderful time. Our floor was called "Hohe Salve", though the others may be a bit different. It worked really well for a large family or group, with 5.5 rooms: five have ensuite bathrooms, and the remaining one has a sink. Rooms vary in size but mostly have plenty of space, and each has either a double or twin bed with a comfortable mattress. Some apartments have balconies, handy for airing damp clothes or sitting out on a sunny day. The bathrooms are on the small side, but they're clean, and the showers have a strong stream that feels great after skiing. The huge kitchen is the heart of the apartment, with plenty of space for meals or gaming nights. It has three fridges, an oven, a stove, and a professional dishwasher that finishes a full cycle in 10 minutes. The apartment house is right in the village center, with restaurants just a few minutes away on foot. Helmut was a wonderful host, always friendly and helpful. Thanks for a great stay.

I've been staying with Karl Huber since 2004, and I'll keep coming back. He's done a lot for the village of Hopfgarten and the surrounding region, just google his name. The guesthouse is superb: the rooms are older, but everything is clean. The location is fantastic in summer and winter, and breakfast has a great selection.

The large south-facing balcony off the kitchen was a highlight. We spent time there in the sun with a cold drink or two. Margot and Helmut were always available and glad to answer our questions. We also had a lovely afternoon at Helmut's "Sunnseit-Hüttn" mountain hut, with delicious food, friendly service, and great prices. The "Hohe Salve" apartment was beautifully and lovingly furnished, spacious, and in a fantastic location. Shops for everyday needs, the cable car valley station, and the children's ski area were all within walking distance. We had a wonderful holiday in Hopfgarten and would love to return!

Helmuth was a wonderful host, and you should be sure to visit his Sunnseitalm. They also have tobogganing evenings with delicious pork knuckle. Our spacious, beautiful apartment had room for 10 and lacked nothing. It was a five-minute walk to the lift and three supermarkets, with lots of good restaurants nearby.

The breakfast at Pension Kulmer is generous and healthy, and the owners are warm and welcoming. The place is clean and certainly affordable, so I’d recommend staying here in Hopfgarten.
