Waldhaus Igls Appartements

We've had several relaxing family holidays at Waldhaus, and everyone enjoys it each time. The apartment is bright, spacious, and well equipped, with a large garden, and the hosts are very friendly. It's close to Innsbruck and skiing. We'll be back!

We had such a good time here that I wished our busy plans left room to spend a whole day in the apartment. The hosts were lovely and helpful, and gave us a welcome card for free transport throughout our stay. Fresh bread can be ordered too, and ours was great for breakfast. We didn’t get a chance to use the sauna or swimming pool. We were travelling on a budget without a car, and the location worked well. The bus stop is a five-minute walk away, with a 15-minute ride to Innsbruck city centre and 40 minutes to the mountain. Cafes, restaurants, shops, bakeries and supermarkets are all within ten minutes on foot, though they close early. The apartment had two separate rooms, each with a double bed, sofa and bathroom, plus a fully equipped kitchen and dining table. It was spacious, clean and comfortable, with a large balcony stretching across the rooms and a lovely garden view. We really enjoyed our two-night stay.

The owner was so kind. Our clothes got soaked in a thunderstorm after we left them outside to dry following a wash in the basement. Since we had to leave the next morning and weren’t sure what to do with them, she offered to dry them for us. She went out of her way to make sure our family of eight had a good stay. The apartments were clean and spacious, in a quaint, pretty town a short drive from Innsbruck. Just plan ahead for food, as many shops close around 6pm.

We’re visiting Austria for the first time, and I’d happily recommend Igls as a base, especially these apartments. The views are fantastic, the rooms are clean, and the equipment is good. Everything seems to have been thought through, right down to the towels and toilet paper. We also got a friendly welcome from an English-speaking host.
