The hosts were top notch, always helpful, and the apartment was clean, modern and spacious, with comfortable bedding and most of the kitchen utensils and appliances you'd need, including a dishwasher. They also provide daily bread delivery at about 6:15 and access to the sauna and relaxation room from around 4:30 to 19:30. The apartment is about a five-minute uphill walk from the bus stop, with ski buses every 10-15 minutes, and the host included lockers by the Fimba bahn for skis and boots. Some other reviews mention the hosts coming into the apartment during the day. They do, to clean, take out rubbish and unplug appliances that aren't being used, and we had no problem with that. Nothing negative to say, highly recommend!

We've skied in the Alpes for over 20 years, with at least 10 trips to Ischgl, and normally rent apartments. This was our first time at Chalet Barbara, in apartment Top3. The apartment matched the photos: clean, with a well-equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms and comfortable beds. The sauna was available Sunday to Thursday, and having a ski depot by Fimba bahn included was really convenient. The ski bus was easy to use, though the road uphill from its stop to the house is quite steep. Our main concern was the owners' conduct. They came in every day to collect rubbish, going through every room, and unplugged chargers from a computer or iPad left charging. If a window was closed the wrong way, though it wasn't clear how, we got immediate feedback. We also felt watched when using the sauna. There was a small mishap while cooking meat in the oven: some juice got on the bottom, causing a burnt smell that set off the fire alarm. The owners handled it very unprofessionally. Over the next few days they stopped greeting us and avoided us, and they continued behaving badly at checkout.

We're back at Chalet Barbara for a second year in a row and still love staying here. The owners are so kind and welcoming, and the apartment was spotless and equipped with everything we needed. The bread delivery and rubbish collection both worked flawlessly and made things more relaxing. It's a little farther up the hill in Mathon, which makes for peaceful evenings and a chance to properly unwind. We highly recommend the chalet and are already looking forward to coming back.
