Gästeapartement Schlossblick

Our attempt to book directly turned into a mess. We confirmed by email, but had to call again because the address listed on the website was outdated. Then we were told to pay the full amount in advance. That seemed very unusual for accommodation in Austria, but we did it on Tuesday after the weekend because the nearest bank branch was more than 10 km away. On Wednesday morning, we were told by email that our apartment had been rented to someone else for the first 4 days. They said we had paid too late and they weren't sure we were still interested, even though our confirmation email was clear. The way this was handled felt legally unacceptable and really poor from a human perspective. We had booked for 9 days the previous Friday. I’d recommend booking only through booking.com. We called directly because hosts can save the fees that way, but trying to save the host money was probably a mistake. Luckily, we found a vacation rental by giving them the name over the phone. Why did we call directly? That’s why.
