Hotel Auhof

That après-ski bar at the hotel is a nice bonus. We had a great stay at Auhof, and the hosts made us feel welcome while doing their best to handle our requests. The rooms were spotless, everything worked as it should, and we could set the temperature ourselves. Breakfast was amazing, and the afternoon snack was plenty after a full day on the slopes. The Kappl gondola is only about 50 meters away, and the skibus stops right outside for a quick trip to Ischgl.

The staff were really kind and helpful, and the room was cleaned every day. Breakfast and snacks were very good too. The hotel is close to the Bergbahnen for skiing in Kappl, and Ischgl is about 15 minutes away by bus.

The location is a real plus, right by the mountain lift, with Ischgl nearby as another option. They also have night sledding every Tuesday. Breakfast was fine, with a modest selection but extra choices available on request, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Rooms were cleaned daily, and bathrobes and slippers were provided for the spa. There are several saunas, including a Finnish one, plus fruit and tea. There’s no kettle in the room, though there is one in the spa. A couple of room drawbacks: shower water was warm enough, but not hot enough for a bath, and ventilation was weak, so we slept with the balcony door slightly open. Sport Huber ski rent is nearby and I highly recommend it, a family business with a customer focus and reasonable prices. The famous Thermo is also close, and booking ahead can get you a discount. Overall, the hotel felt cozy and pleasant.

You can ski right back to the hotel, and the gondola couldn’t be better placed. The rooms were good, staff friendly, and both the breakfast and dinner menus were great. We’re planning to book again.
