The location is fantastic! The house has plenty of potential, but the atmosphere is a bit odd, the owner is somewhat eccentric, and the rooms haven't been updated in ages. The bathrooms are best endured with gritted teeth. Still, it's a decent base for skiing if you don't expect too much. One tip: bring toilet paper, towels, and liquids ;)

The best things here are the house and its location. The 1970s look has some lovely wood ceilings and panelled walls, but rooms with carpets that must be at least 40 years old lose a lot of their coziness. The huge wooden tables also make the shared room feel crowded, and the kitchen is much too small for a group of 23. Cooking and cleaning up for everyone was difficult. The 45 cm dishwasher needed three runs for one meal, which was slow and wasteful. The landlord called it a new purchase, though the cutlery basket was so worn that only two sections still held cutlery; it fell through the large holes in the other two. The way we were treated left the worst impression. We sorted our considerable rubbish into paper, plastic, lids, metal, organic waste, general waste, and bread, then had to take it away ourselves. We also paid €30 per person for final cleaning, including the small children. The extra cash deposit was returned only after the landlord had inspected every room and we had removed the rubbish. It felt like being ripped off, especially with the landlord constantly speaking to us in an accusatory way. Such a lovely place, such a sour ending.

The location is great, but I can't recommend the place. It used to be a guesthouse, and some of us stayed there back then. The only real change is that it's cleaner. The building is still very old and run-down. There is Wi-Fi, despite Interchalet advertising it, but the owner refuses to provide the password. The owner also lives in the house and is constantly moving around it. You can't lock either the rooms or the front door, so there's no privacy and you should be careful with valuables. The rental fee paid to Interchalet is high, then the extra costs can add another €1,000 when the house is full. Towels and bed linens are ancient, the towels rougher than sandpaper. As far as we could tell, nobody has invested or renovated anything for years, even though some of us have been there before. It feels like the landlords and owners are just taking in money. We were a large group under time pressure with no alternative, but otherwise I would absolutely book somewhere else. We're even changing ski resorts because of this. I hope the people in charge in Kappl realize how much landlords like this damage the area's image. Stay away if you can.

He seemed overwhelmed by even basic requests, and said he couldn't deal with our needs because he had to look after his guests. Apparently it hadn't occurred to him that we were paying to stay there too, so we were guests as well. The landlord was completely unfriendly. Even one star feels generous. Avoid this place, there are plenty of nice places to stay in town.
