We had a car, so we didn’t use the hotel’s private shuttle to the ski lifts. The location works well for getting between the different ski areas. At the hotel, we liked the large rooms with good storage and a deck, the great breakfast buffet, and the kind staff. The set dinners had about three main course choices and were fine, if not gourmet. It also had a lovely Austrian family-run feel. There were some real drawbacks. Dinner tap water cost 5chf, which surprised us, and the internet was very slow and kept cutting out while my husband worked remotely. It was almost completely off late at night. The mattresses need updating too. I have back issues and had to turn mine over to avoid feeling the springs.

This was my second visit, and once again I waited almost an hour for the keys. The managers barely speak English, so even understanding each other is a struggle. They don’t seem to care about the guests or the bad reviews. The rooms are clean and kept up, and it’s cheap, but that’s about all it has going for it. Only come if you have no other options.

Dinner is served only from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, and the sauna is open only between 4:00-6:00 PM. There was no soap or shampoo in the rooms. The food was poor, and staff argued with guests.

The employees provide good service, especially Jozef and Johanna. The owners are another matter. The older man and woman are cranky and seem to charge for everything, which is a shame.

The rooms and sauna were alright, but service was inconsistent and the owners were unfriendly. One evening, although dinner had been ordered and paid for everyone in our group, we were told there was no dessert left. Breakfast was meant to run until 10.00 according to the information in the hotel, but when we arrived at 8.54 one day, staff were already clearing away what little food remained and taking it to the kitchen. Getting back after skiing in Ischgl could also be a hassle. The hotel is a bit far from the village centre, the last bus leaves a little before 5pm, and you may have to walk a kilometer in your ski boots carrying your skis.
