For such a huge amount of money, this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed, and it completely ruined our vacation. The apartment was shockingly dirty, like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The walls were stained, the ceiling filthy, and there was feces wiped on the curtains. The room lights didn’t work, and the staff were indifferent and completely unprofessional. We asked to be moved to a clean apartment. They spent half an hour “searching” and still couldn’t find one. Daily cleaning was promised, but never happened. The cloth we used to wipe the sofa is visible in the photo, and all the furniture was damaged and full of holes. There was a lot more horror, but there isn’t enough space here to describe it all.

I came back to Avenida Mountain Hotel in Kaprun because my first stay had been excellent. This visit was a letdown. During our eight nights, the room was cleaned only once, halfway through. Traveling as a family with kids, we needed more regular cleaning, or at least fresh towels, tissues, and toilet paper. We even paid for an extra cleaning, and it still wasn't done properly. The hotel's policy has changed since my previous stay, so future guests should know that before they book.

Our two-bedroom unit was comfortable and very clean, with a lovely river view. The staff made us feel welcome, too. Avenida Mountain Lodges Kaprun is in a peaceful, scenic spot that's still close to town and the attractions. A great place to stay when visiting the Kaprun area.
