Unfortunately, the family’s treatment was poor. The woman who runs the house was racist.

We really enjoyed the quiet spot at the edge of town and the warm welcome. The ski bus stops just around the corner, and there’s a room for storing ski gear. Our modern apartment was very well equipped, with a big balcony looking out at the mountains. We’d happily stay at Oberlehenhof again.

There’s a good space for children, with farm animals including ducks, chickens, goats, and cows. They can also provide fresh milk, and the kitchen has everything you need to cook if you bring your own food. The hotel sits up on a quiet hill and has fair prices. The owners are friendly and the staff are helpful, with parking out front. Kaprun center is about a 10-minute walk. There isn’t a breakfast buffet. You can order pastries and milk, which they bring from the previous day. For the view, I’d pick a room facing the center rather than the mountain. All the rooms are nice, but the ones facing the center are best.

It’s clean and peaceful, with a lovely view of the mountains and the city from its elevated spot. The family running it are very helpful. There’s also a small waterfall right beside the hotel. Every guest gets a free Zell am See Summer Card for entry to tourist attractions, which saves quite a bit of money.
