Revier Boutique Hotel Kaprun

The hotel looks modern and is nicely decorated, but I was very disappointed by the breakfast charge. We had to add a night because of car problems, and although the room was already expensive, nobody clearly explained that breakfast wasn't included. I was surprised to pay an extra 40€ the next morning. The breakfast itself wasn't remotely worth that price. I understand that a room might not include breakfast, but guests should be told clearly.

I booked a room for two for one night through Booking during a road trip in early January. By an obvious, immediate human mistake, I chose February 2nd instead of January 2nd. The reservation had only been in place for around two.three hours when I noticed and dealt with the error. I went to the hotel that same day, calmly explained what happened, and asked for a simple change or cancellation. They said I could cancel, but that staying that night would mean paying a new rate of €500 instead of the €180 already paid. I refused and stayed somewhere else. I tried several times to cancel, at reception, through the Booking app, and manually on my phone while standing at the front desk. I asked for a refund too, but got nowhere. The cancellation was never processed. Canceling through Booking is straightforward, so having the requests ignored repeatedly, both in person and online, is very hard to see as an accident. I emailed the hotel directly, explained the situation again, and politely asked for my money back. The only reply was a generic “Sorry, this is our policy.” They didn't review the case, acknowledge the immediate mistake, explain why the cancellation hadn't been handled, or take responsibility. The room was never used, and the hotel had no loss, yet they kept the full amount, left the reservation active, and issued no refund. I've traveled widely and stayed in countless places, and never before had such a rigid, dismissive, ethically questionable response to a same-day booking error. This goes beyond a cancellation policy. It raises serious concerns about transparency, basic goodwill, and intent. No empathy, responsibility, or professionalism.

The staff are the friendliest, and the hotel itself is absolutely beautiful. Best place to stay! ✨️ Aaron and Toon at the bar were definitely the best. Thanks to them!

A pleasant hotel at a reasonable price, with a good breakfast served in a nice atmosphere.
