Panorama Hotel Cis

I stayed here in early September '24, in room #7. It was spacious, with a king-size bed, a big sitting area with a couch, a work desk, and a large balcony looking out over the Alps. There was plenty of closet space for a longer stay, and both the room and bathroom were very clean. The furniture has an 80s vintage feel, but it’s well made and maintained, not worn out. Andre, the owner, is a certified sommelier and has a great wine selection. There’s also a room downstairs for storing bikes in summer or ski gear in winter. It isn’t a luxury hotel, but it’s a family-run place with great value, a lovely location, and a super polite, helpful owner. I’d definitely recommend it and will be back.

Andre greeted my friend and me with drinks when we arrived, then spent 10-15 minutes asking about where we were from, what we did, and where our trip had taken us or would take us next. He also filled us in on the town’s history, people, and businesses, so we felt welcome and knew a lot about the place straight away. He pointed us to an excellent restaurant just two minutes away by car. The mountain and valley views were stunning, and the food was mouth-watering. The hotel sauna downstairs was great too, with steam and dry heat rooms, showers, foot baths, water to drink, and loungers to relax in afterward. Breakfast was excellent: made-to-order omelets, cereal, bread, fresh cheese, and milk that had been inside a cow just hours earlier. I still remember the taste. I’ll be back as soon as I can. Don’t skip this place!

The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the food is quite good. Sometimes it even reaches exceptional gourmet territory. Portions are just right, generous without going overboard, and the prices are good. The sauna and wellness area is especially pleasant, though a whirlpool would make it perfect. Andre, the manager, speaks good Italian and knows a lot about nearby excursions and shopping. The staff are extremely friendly, and the hotel has a homely feel. One thing to keep in mind: the main road runs right in front. There isn’t much traffic, but you do need to watch toddlers. There’s no elevator, so wheelchair access could be difficult, though some rooms may work.

The room has breathtaking views, and breakfast was amazing. The staff are great, very kind and knowledgeable about the area. A lovely base for exploring the Dolomites.
