Falkensteiner Cristallo

Our family had a nice stay, and we'd like to come back. The pools and wellness areas were pleasant, and the food selection was okay. The location is ideal, right on the slopes beside the children's ski learning area. Most of the service was excellent: the restaurant staff and playroom attendants were fantastic, and reception was professional and efficient. Our family suite was cleverly laid out for our two young children, aged 5 and 1, so we could manage their different sleeping and feeding routines. The furniture, floors, and other equipment showed wear, though, which made us wonder whether the stay was worth what we paid.

The buffet was delicious, with lots of lovely choices and local farm produce. Dinner service was great too, and the staff made us feel welcome when they remembered us on our second visit as a family of five. We arrived very late, but they offered us a cold plate of food, which was a thoughtful touch. Renting skis was easy, and being able to ski straight out from the hotel onto the slopes was amazing. The rooms felt a little cramped, but they were clean, warm, and quiet at night. We've had such a lovely holiday, thank you!

The hotel worked really well for our young kids. The all-inclusive setup was convenient, the food was good, and the wellness area was nice. There's a children's pool with a small slide, a playroom, and playgrounds right outside. Everyone on staff was kind, helpful, and understanding with the children. The location is the biggest plus: it's right on the slope, with two baby slopes and a ski school at the entrance. Getting the kids to lessons was easy, and the area also made it simple to take stroller walks while the baby slept. Even if you're not skiing, you're not stuck away from everything. A few things could be better. My mattress was too soft, creaky, and uncomfortable, and I later realized it was probably worn out. The other mattresses in the room were fine. I had back pain from it and hope it gets replaced. The pillows were lumpy, and the sauna doesn't open until 2 PM, so there's not much to do if you're not skiing. Staff always helped with the restaurant entrance, but it isn't stroller-friendly and a proper ramp would help a lot. We stayed with our three small children, a 6-month-old baby and two 3.5-year-olds. They're learning to ski, and we wanted relaxed afternoons and stroller walks. We did consider another Falkensteiner hotel with larger play areas, but this location is a major advantage with very young children learning to ski. We'll definitely come back while our kids are still young.

Lunch was the one part I'd change. On two of our seven days, all the meat choices were pork, including pork kebab, pork roast, and bacon potatoes, so pasta was the only option. It would be good to have a non-pork meat choice when pork is served. Apart from that, everything was lovely and worth the money. The hotel is right by the ski slopes, and our room was spacious, very clean, and had comfortable beds. The spa and pool were great, dinner was amazing, and there was plenty to choose from at breakfast.
