Das Reisch

The breakfast buffet and restaurant food were both excellent. The front desk ladies were amazingly helpful and nice, and it’s a very nice historic hotel.

The location is great, and the rooms are okay, though I paid a lot compared with competitors. The hospitality was terrible. Being an old establishment doesn’t make it a good hotel. Check-in felt odd, and the woman didn’t seem happy to see us. Nobody even asked whether our stay had gone well. It felt like they didn’t want guests around, and the bar waiters were almost rude. I was very uncomfortable during my stay. The hotel isn’t child friendly. Kitzbuhel is another story, but I’ve been to more luxurious, high-profile destinations and can easily say this place isn’t worth it. Don’t come all the way down here. You won’t be welcomed at all.

Sandra at the front desk was fantastic, helpful, and kind, with customer service down to an art. Eva at reception was extremely helpful too. The staff, service, food, and amenities were all great, and the rooms were clean. This hotel is right in the center, close to the shops. We highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The reception staff deserve special mention. They couldn’t do enough to make our stay special, whether with a friendly hello or good morning, or useful suggestions for things to do. We’ll definitely return to Das Reisch. We were pleasantly surprised by our large, comfortable room at the front of the hotel, with a lovely view over the church and the mountains behind it. The king-size bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was spacious with a shower, sink, large mirror, and toilet, and there was plenty of storage for our clothes. The food was excellent too. We had dinner from the restaurant’s à la carte menu, and the service was quick with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was just as good, with plenty of choices for all tastes.
