Landhaus Gasteiger Pension

We found this place at the last minute, and it felt like a bit of magic. It’s cute, warm, and clean, with a really convenient location. The owner was kind and welcoming too.

The people were lovely, and the accommodation was very good. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, though an evening walk of 1-3 km is an option. The ski bus stops right by the guesthouse and gets you to the gondola in two minutes.

We’ve stayed at Landhaus Gasteiger several times for skiing and have been happy every time. I almost hesitate to recommend it, since more visitors could change the charm of the place, but of course I can’t help recommending the house and especially the lovely Gasteiger family. It sits between Kitzbühel and Kirchberg in Tirol, just one bus stop from the Fleckalm/ Fleckalmbahn, one of the nicest lifts and runs in the Kitzbühel ski area. With the bus stop right outside the garden gate and good connections into Kitzbühel, we could leave the car in one of the plenty of parking spaces. The rooms are a comfortable size, always clean, with good beds and what a family with children needs. Breakfast is generous, with everything from muesli to Nutella rolls, plus as much coffee and tea as you need. Just keep in mind that they only serve breakfast. For dinner, you’ll need to eat out, pick up bread and cold cuts at the supermarket, or order online. You can eat and spend time in the guest lounge downstairs. The heart of the pension is Frau Gasteiger senior and her daughter (or daughter-in-law??) Eva. They look after both grown-ups and, especially, the little guests with real warmth and friendliness. We hope there’ll always be a room for us! 😊

Really good experience, clean, and the location couldn’t be better. The ski bus stops right outside and it’s a two-minute ride to the lift. The internet could be better.
