Iton Arlberg - Appartements

We booked at short notice to visit our friends from Germany on their ski holiday. At first I reserved the very small apartment at a very reasonable price. The landlord confirmed it on the phone, then called the next day to say a regular customer had booked that same apartment. She offered us a larger one for double the price. It was only two days before we arrived in high season, and the price was still okay for Arlberg, so I agreed. I arrived early and was glad to be allowed into the apartment ahead of time. The landlord was polite enough then. But when my girlfriend arrived later that day, everything changed. The following day, the landlord called me to her office to settle the bill and fiercely shamed me for bringing a foreigner to her place, saying we should leave as soon as possible. For a moment, she even demanded more money than agreed. It all seemed racist and homophobic to me. The attack came out of nowhere and was inexplicable, so we also ignored her written invitation to talk the next morning. The place itself is well maintained and good value, and might be a nice stay if you’re from a German-speaking background. This is my first rating below five stars. I usually only leave feedback when positively surprised, but this experience was quite the opposite.
