The natural surroundings are beautiful, but we had a very disappointing stay here with our camper. Electricity came to about €300 for one week, roughly four times what we’re used to paying for normal use. The closest showers and toilets were closed, so getting to the facilities meant a long walk. We ended up using our camper most of the time, which rather defeats the point of a campsite with amenities. The campsite restaurant was closed as well. About 10 meters before the campsite, though, there was an open place that looked very nice, with friendly staff. A nearby shop with long opening hours was helpful, and we were glad it was there. The site is remote, with very little to do nearby and poor accessibility. Getting to the ski area by public transport takes around 1.5 hours, which isn’t ideal. With the high costs, inaccessible facilities, and remote location, we wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the facilities were kept clean. There aren’t many choices at the restaurant, but what we had was tasty. The campsite has a lovely view of the lake, with hiking routes right beside it.

We only stayed one night after finding this campsite by chance, but we really enjoyed it. We’ll definitely come back, in summer and in winter too.

The Alpbachtal Card is included, and the price feels very fair. The lake nearby is amazing, though the path down to the water and beach is steep. Public transport stops right outside the campsite, and the facilities were always clean and well kept. There are nice playgrounds for kids. Space is limited, though. In my small van I was always right up against someone else.
