I was staying at the pension at the same time and was part of the group mentioned in the review. I wanted to add what things looked like from another guest’s point of view. The mood there felt friendly and relaxed to me, not chaotic. I, along with many other guests, enjoyed the stay, especially the sauna and other facilities after skiing. It seems well suited to families and groups, though everyone has different expectations on holiday. Our group did have several young children. They played together, visited one another’s rooms, and went through the hallway during the day, which seems normal on a family holiday. Expecting small children to stay silent and alone in their rooms all day just isn’t realistic. We weren’t ignoring requests to be considerate: when asked to be quieter or close doors, we did so and changed our behavior. There was no deliberate disregard for the other guests. As this was apartment-style accommodation, some food smells are hard to avoid when several apartments are occupied and people are cooking. To me, that’s a normal part of this kind of lodging, not a sign of disrespect.

The view from the balcony was absolutely gorgeous, and our room worked perfectly for two adults and two children. It was very clean, well ventilated, and thankfully didn’t smell of smoke, which we appreciated as non-smokers. Mrs. Opresnik made it possible for us to book, and check-in was simple, even after reception had closed, using the phone app to access the property. We also received cards for free access to the P4 parking lot and Krimml waterfall. Breakfast was filling and delicious, with local products. There are lots of interesting attractions nearby, and the hospitality here is special, so we plan to come back with our extended family. Respect for everything you do!

We were staying at Gastehaus Waltl as part of a bike tour and were so pleased with it. The balconies had amazing views and were lovely places to sit in the evening. Our room was spacious, the beds comfortable, and breakfast generous. That fresh house-made bread was to die for. Thanks for such a comforting stay.

Service always came with a smile, and breakfast was great. There’s a bar downstairs where they had Formula One on, plus a spa with sauna, steam, UV, and solarium, a welcome break after biking in the rain. We also hiked in the rain to Krimml falls, about half a mile away, along an impressive waterfall. It’s the tallest in the Alps, and the well-maintained trail wasn’t slippery, even though it was quite wet.

Really nice person running this place, and a great stay. On our cycling tour, it’s at the top of our list so far for juice selection, the comfiest bed, and games and kids’ toys. 👍
