Hotel Krimmlerfälle

The staff were extremely nice and made the stay even better. I was even given little chocolates for Valentine’s Day. During my six days at Hotel Krimmlerfälle, dinner came with a choice of three different meals each day, and none of them repeated. The breakfast buffet was quite elaborate, the rooms spacious, and the sauna and steam bath great. I had a very nice experience there.

The owners are so lovely, and the whole place feels warm and cosy. Our room was spacious, the staff really friendly, and the food was good. The location was brilliant too. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and will definitely come back.

We had a great stay overall. The hotel is clean, the staff are genuinely friendly, and my single room was more than adequate and quite roomy for one person. The bus stop for the ski piste is right outside, and the ride is short. The bus comes with the ski pass, though it tends to be full, so you may have to stand. It wasn't a big deal for such a short trip. Parking is available at the hotel, and there are several electric car charging stations nearby in town. The main hassle was the ski and boot room, especially the boot area, which doesn't seem big enough for a hotel this size. Arriving late meant there was no space, so I kept my boots in my room under the bathroom radiator. That worked for me, partly because my room was right by the elevator that goes straight to the ski room. If you're staying at the other end of the hotel, I can see it being much more annoying. That's why I'd give the service four stars rather than five, though the issue wasn't a major one for me. The half-board meals were good, though not outstanding. I was especially pleased to find Stiegl Weisse, one of my favourite Austrian beers and hard to find outside Austria. I'm quite into beer, so that was a real treat. I stayed in February. You can see the waterfall from a distance, but the paths to it are closed in winter. I've heard the location is great in summer too, since it's very close to the Krimmler wasserfallen, though I haven't been there then.

We were glad to get the balcony we requested, and found our room really cosy. Dinner was very good, with a choice of three dishes each time, including one vegetarian option, and we loved the flavours. Rafael behind the bar made the visit even nicer with his humour and charm. We'd definitely recommend staying here.
