There’s a large dining hall for groups and events, while the comfortable tables work well for a meal and the bar area is handy if you’re just stopping for a drink. It’s a pleasant place to sit, service was quick, and they’re open Mondays. The food was good, though the potato salad somehow tasted store-bought to us.

We found the food portions huge. The mixed meat plate came with plenty of fries and tasty steamed vegetables, and the filet mix was massive too. The small pieces of bread pudding were amazing. It felt worth the price, though an average person might not manage to finish it. Even the kid’s schnitzel was adult-sized and very good, so a child under 12 probably wouldn’t finish the whole thing. Our room was clean and simple, which suited us for a one-night stop, and the bathroom was spotless, seriously spotless. The staff were always nearby, friendly, and ready to help without us having to search for anyone. We had a pleasant evening listening to locals laugh over beer, with a couple of bottles of Eggenberg black beer ourselves. It felt like an authentic Austrian place, and it’s easy to underestimate it.

We were happy with our choice for a family stay, two adults and two children. The kids enjoyed the playground, and the place also seemed popular for lunch and dinner. The owner showed us the room himself and gave advice about traveling with a bicycle car. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, the service was high quality, and everyone was friendly. The bus connection to Enns wasn’t very good. In the room, a kettle for making coffee and a few more coat hangers would have helped, though it was comfortable and well maintained. The staff were lovely, helpful, and pleasant.
