Zum Brüdertor

We were two adults and two children, staying for two nights on half-board. The room was clean, and having a proper five-bed room instead of a sofa bed worked perfectly for our family. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with nothing to complain about there. They provided towels and robes for the thermal baths, free for adults in our package and otherwise available for a fee. The baths are about a 2-3 minute drive away. Breakfast was good, though a little more choice would have been nice. Dinner in the Mexican restaurant downstairs was a different story. The so-called tomato soup tasted strikingly like the jarred tomato sauce we often use at home for pasta. The chicken didn't seem fully cooked or particularly fresh. The children couldn't get Kaiserschmarrn because it was "out". How does a kitchen run out of milk, flour, and eggs? The one dessert that wasn't too bad was Moor im Hemd, a type of potato dumpling, which seemed like it probably came from a large package. As a bed and breakfast, I'd recommend it, even for a family with three children. With half-board, though, we definitely wouldn't book again. The hotel itself is okay, a solid three stars in my view. Four stars feels a bit overstated.
