The view and location were good. The owner and the €120 cleaning fee were not, and the sauna was open only from 4:30 pm to 7 pm. I’ve never written a bad review before, but this stay left me uncomfortable the whole time. There were four of us, staying three nights. We’d driven 9.5 hours from Belgium and arrived later than we’d told Jutta because of the weather. We were exhausted when she met us in the apartment car park. Her tone and body language made it clear she was unhappy. She told us to take only what we needed and leave the bags in the car until morning because we’d make too much noise. On the way to the apartment, a friend accidentally pressed the wrong floor in the lift. Jutta snapped, “I SAID LEVEL TWO!” Inside, she pointed angrily at my shoes and asked why I was wearing them when the floor was clean. We asked if we could pay for breakfast the next morning before she left. She got defensive and shouted that we hadn’t asked for breakfast, so there wouldn’t be any. The next afternoon, my friend found Jutta inside our apartment. When asked what she was doing, she seemed surprised anyone was there and said she wanted to know what time we were checking out the next day. On our last day we went to the sauna. Jutta appeared with a mop and started cleaning the floor. While we were in the sauna, my friend heard her complain in German that we were messy. We’re a group of young professionals in our 30s, but felt watched by an angry mother treating us like children. I don’t understand why the owner is in this business if she’s so focused on cleanliness. With a €120 cleaning fee, I feel I should be able to decide whether to wear shoes inside. Jutta never apologized; the next morning at check-in, she acted as if nothing had happened. She did seem happy enough to take our money. We won’t return.
