We stayed for a weekend, 15-17.9.2017, with our dog. The hotel sits around 1000m above sea level, with a lovely panorama over the valley. Inside, the rooms were comfortable, clean, and had what we needed, though the older building could feel a little cold during very cold weather. The food looked wonderful and tasted even better, and the family running the hotel were genuinely friendly and did their best to make us feel at home. There isn't much to do immediately nearby, but within 7 to 20 km there are shops, museums, a lake, a river, and hiking trails. Slovenia is close enough for a short visit too. One thing to know: the hotel had been sold, and a new owner was due to take over in November 2017. The previous owner was moving to Hotel & Camping Fichtenhof & Gifthittn, Hebalm 66 & 67, Pack, Steiermark.

The view from our window was wonderful, and we had a balcony where we could sit and look down at everyone. The mountains around the hotel aren't high, but they're still lovely. The owners were warm and welcoming, and breakfast had a great range: sausages, cheeses, eggs, jam, butter, coffee, juice, and more. We certainly didn't leave hungry. Our room was cold, though we were there at the end of September in the off-season, with few guests in such a large building.

We had beef fillet and pork medallions for dinner, with fresh porcini mushrooms from the local Magdalenensberg mountain. Both were delicious. Breakfast was presented with lots of thoughtful touches, and I wish I hadn't left my camera in the room. The hotel also has a breathtaking panoramic view. Great value, especially for motorcyclists. We'll be back!

The terrace view at breakfast alone makes an overnight stay worthwhile. The room was okay, but the bathroom felt quite old and the beds were hard.

We came by motorbike and loved the area, especially all those curves 😀. Our hosts were smiling, kind, and helpful, and the view from our room was beautiful. I'd recommend staying here.
