I booked this holiday through crystal on the hotel's website, which clearly says they cater for vegans and vegetarians. That was completely untrue in my experience. For three nights in a row, I got exactly the same starter and dessert choices, and there was no choice for the main. It was take it or leave it. By the third day I was buying food from the local Spar shop and eating it in my room. A terrible experience. The staff were rude and seemed not to care, and my crystal rep was absolutely useless. The catering staff looked dressed for a five-star high-end hotel, but asking them for anything that might be a bother quickly showed what they were like behind the bling. The website also says the accommodation is ski-in, ski-out, which was another lie. To get to the nearest lift from the hotel, you have to go through private backyards, and it's not possible in your skis, so you have to walk. Two stars at best.

We've stayed at this hotel several times, as well as at other places in Lech and Oberlech. The atmosphere is friendly, the hotel is excellent, and dinner is delicious. There's a nice lobby, and the children liked the swimming pool. We'll be back next year.

The hotel itself was very good, but breakfast left me feeling excluded. From the first morning, I complained about being seated in a back room that smelled of cigarettes. The main dining room tables were reserved for people who had dinner at the hotel, and people went in one at a time, so those tables sat empty while we couldn't have a pleasant breakfast there. They only found me a decent table on the last day. I felt they were prejudiced against foreign people.

We had everything we needed to relax, from the sauna, pool and fitness equipment to good beds and nice meals at breakfast, snack time and dinner. The staff were so friendly, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. I'd happily come back, no question.

Otmar and Claudia made me feel welcome at hotel Plattenhof, and I had a wonderful stay. I especially enjoyed the lovely outdoor ice bar. Definitely worth a visit!
