Pension Sandbur

I'd happily return to Lech, but definitely not to stay with these hosts again, Schwarzwand/Sandbur, the Walserhaus. The room had a very nice rustic charm, and the location was fairly central, with the ski lifts easy to reach on foot. But at €3510 for the last week of January, the value for money is simply absurd. The bathroom was unusable. The mirror was just leaning there, not mounted, and could fall at any moment. There was only a bathtub and no way to shower: the faucet didn't work, and the layout meant a shower would flood the whole bathroom. There wasn't even a holder for a shower head, for washing your hair in the tub, for example :-). Thankfully, the next room was unoccupied, so we were able to shower there. The sofa was so worn and sagged so badly in the middle that you could only lie down on it. There was no room service for two days. After breakfast we were alone in the house every day, with no service, minibar, self-service option, or way to boil water. Breakfast was brewed coffee only, with no fresh coffee from a machine or capsules. The only eggs were boiled, not fried or scrambled. Bread was fresh twice; otherwise it was from the day before or the day before that. Each day, one roll and/or one croissant was fresh. Unfortunately, the owner wasn't open to suggestions for improvement and didn't even apologize for all the inconveniences, let alone offer a price reduction.
