Banyan Hotel

We stayed through Crystal just before Christmas 2025. It’s a nice hotel, and the guys at reception and the buffet breakfast team were really helpful. Breakfast was very good each day, provided you got there before the family who piled all the pain au chocolate on their table and then left a bunch uneaten. The spa and bar were both okay, with more going on at the spa. The odd thing was the Chinese paintings around the hotel, some hung upside down. The boot room has plenty of space, but none of the boot rails were heated. Two mornings we had to sort out the boarder boots, or take the inners out. The rooms on the ground floor are handy for coming and going and getting to breakfast without the small lift. Just avoid room #1 if you can, since it’s right by the main door. The view from those rooms isn’t great, but we didn’t spend much time in ours, so it worked out fine. Galzigbahn is a good 10-minute walk away, slightly uphill, and that’s the only way to get there. Some of our group grumbled about carrying skis. Still, the hotel is well placed for Spar, the nightclub, or the 'best bar' in town after après. Everything is walkable unless there’s a lot more snow than we had, which wouldn’t take much. There’s a nice restaurant across the road and another in the hotel on dortstrasser, to the left as you leave the driveway. Turn right and you go straight into the village. And if you buy bottles or cans at Spar, remember to return them for the deposits.
