Pension Schmidinger

Our hosts were incredibly warm and friendly, and even gave us a beer when we arrived. The room was a good size, clean, and comfortable, and breakfast was excellent. It was a short walk to both the main lift and the town center, which made it perfect for our ski trip. A lovely family-run B&B, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

I was in Kitzbuhel to snowboard and spent three nights at Pension Schmidinger in mid-March 2023. The spot was ideal, about a 10-minute walk to the Hahnenkamm Gondola, and I could park on site. Room 1 is a single room, just for one person, and it was perfect for me. The bed was comfortable and the room was cleaned daily. There was even a backpack you could take for a day in the mountains. A large closet held all my clothes and gear, with a safe inside. The bathroom was very clean and seemed newly remodeled. It felt modern and well designed, with plenty of counter space, a strong shower, and hot water that came quickly. Breakfast was simple but tasty: cold cuts, bread, cheese, granola, yogurt, OJ, coffee, and tea. They’ll also make eggs however you want them. Barbara, the host, was very friendly, and everyone enjoyed chatting with her. I’d happily stay again.

The owners are warm, friendly hosts, and breakfast was delicious. Rooms are spacious by European standards, quiet and clean, with comfortable beds and lovely knotty pine details on the doors, closet, and desk. Restaurants and the main hahnenkammbahn ski lift are all within walking distance. The one thing I wished for was a small bar where guests could have a drink and meet after skiing or hiking. Still, it’s an extremely good value hotel.

We liked it enough to extend our stay to two nights. The town is a short walk away, with lots of local bars and restaurants. The Pub is worth a look.
