Das Rivus

We booked a family room with half board and loved the breakfast and dinner. Compliments to the chef and restaurant staff. The rooms were spacious, well organized, and spotless, and the whole hotel was beautifully decorated. In such a postcard-worthy setting, having the bike park and ski lift right next door was a huge bonus. The staff were attentive, efficient, and lovely throughout. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

We liked the hotel’s design, and our room was clean, had a nice view, and came with what we needed. In a wellness hotel, though, free flip flops really should be provided. The pool was nice, the location was great, and cable car tickets were free, but the stay felt too expensive for what we got compared with other places we’ve visited. Breakfast had good options if you arrived early. Later, food wasn’t topped up, which was disappointing at around 30€ per person. The spa is 16+ and nude, but when we went it was full of loud youngsters wearing shorts and ignoring the rules, so being naked around them felt awkward. Dinner choices, especially for vegetarians, were limited and steeply priced, and we were served the wrong order. Staff seemed overwhelmed, and one person even cried during breakfast. The advertised shuttle to the train station wasn’t available for us, so we paid about 40€ for a taxi.

We’d gone looking for somewhere to eat after 20:30 because the hotel we were staying at wouldn’t allow even a 10 minute delay. At Das Rivus, we politely asked the woman at the front desk if she could find us a restaurant table. She checked with another receptionist, who kindly made an exception despite the late hour. They seated us and served us at the last minute. The food was delicious, the service was great, and the restaurant was lovely. Everyone was welcoming and polite. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Leogang, I recommend it to everyone. 10/10 deserved!

The 24/7 ski boot dryer was a real game changer, since it kept moisture from building up and avoided the unpleasant surprises that can happen without constant drying. The relaxation area was spectacular too: the sauna and outdoor pool, reached through automatic doors, made for a real WOW experience. With delicious food, a fantastic team, and top-notch service, Hotel Das Rivas is a place I’d gladly recommend and return to. The atmosphere was amazing throughout.
