The balcony gave us a fantastic view across the valley, and the apartment was clean and in perfect order. We stayed in apartment 2, with two rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. It’s simply furnished, but had everything we needed, and there was plenty of parking outside. A hotel with a very good restaurant is right next door. We picked this guesthouse for our first family ski trip because my wife had stayed here with her parents when she was a child. The Prünster family have been running it for over 30 years, and they’re welcoming and always happy to help with tips on shopping, places to eat, or skiing. The guesthouse sits beside the famous pilgrimage church in Maria Luggau, in a small, picturesque mountain village. Italy is just over the next mountain range.

From the windows and balcony, you can look out over green fields with mountains behind them, which makes for a relaxing view. The apartments are spacious, the staff are friendly, and the market downstairs is well stocked. It’s also handy for getting around, with Lienz or San Candido about 45 minutes away. The price is excellent, and it seems worth a try for a relaxing holiday.
