Marlene and her family made us feel so welcome, and we’re grateful for their hospitality. Our Edelweiss room had a lovely view and a huge terrace, and inside it was spotless, comfortable, and full of charming little touches. There was plenty to do nearby, from walks, hikes, fishing, and swimming to the pool, which was included with the summer guest card. We also enjoyed Wednesday’s grill evening and the wonderful gluhwine Marlene’s husband prepared. We’d happily recommend Family Strigl guesthouse.

We had such a good time here, with the peace and quiet, the welcoming hospitality, and that lovely setting. Our host took us on two fantastic snowshoe hikes, and Marlene was always ready to listen. The trails and cross-country ski track are just a short walk away, so there’s no need to use the car. We’re already looking forward to coming back next year.

The way this booking was handled left us very disappointed. After getting an offer for a vacation rental, we called the host with a few questions before booking online. Everything sounded settled, and when we asked about completing the booking online, Ms. Strigl said she had reserved the apartment for us, so we couldn’t do that. She confirmed our verbal booking and promised to email a confirmation, but nothing came. The next day, we were told by phone that the apartment had gone to someone else, supposedly regular guests. She offered us one of her two other available apartments instead, but it would have cost nearly €1000 more. We found the whole thing unacceptable and untrustworthy, both personally and as a business matter. Whatever the house is like, we don’t want to spend our holiday there.

The guided snowshoe walk was a real pleasure, and the surroundings are beautiful. We received a warm welcome, too. The house is close to both the bus stop and the cross-country ski trail. Highly recommended.
