Haus Barbara

We stayed at Mei Chalet Das Barbara for three nights in May and had an incredible time. The host was lovely and helpful, with local recommendations, and the place felt carefully put together, with every room thoughtfully arranged. We were there with our 18-month-old daughter, who had everything she needed: a pack and play crib, high chair, stair gate for the basement stairs, and a sweet little stuffed toy. It’s very family-friendly, and we already can’t wait to return. There’s so much to do in the area that you could spend months here and still have more to see. Highly recommend it for a stay in Austria.

Annabelle greeted us at arrival with a huge smile and made us feel at home right away. She showed us around the chalet and explained how to use the extra heaters if we needed them, though we didn’t. Her hospitality and kindness were lovely. The chalet was clean and new, with a modern, peaceful feel, like a breath of fresh Alpine air. There are several bedrooms, a living room, and a downstairs TV lounge, so it could comfortably host two or three families. The deck has seating and a beautiful view of the Austrian mountains and woods. Sitting there feels wonderfully close to nature, especially under the stars. The location is convenient too, close to downtown Seefeld and the ski resorts. After skiing, you can come in through the downstairs entrance and take off your gear in a separate room with hangers and drying racks. The kitchen is large and has lots of drawers and cabinets, a stove, fridge and freezer, dishes, cookware, a coffee machine, and more for making meals. Annabelle also shares lists of local places to eat and things to do, and responds quickly by email or phone if you have questions. Wi-Fi is available, though with a place this lovely, you may just forget about daily life and enjoy the chalet. We couldn’t be happier with our stay and can’t wait to return to this beautiful home away from home!

Annabelle made us feel very welcome at Haus Barbara. We had a great family stay in this lovely chalet, with plenty of nearby paths for walking and running. We highly recommend it.

The children had lots to explore just outside Chalet Barbara, with lovely mountain views all around. We also enjoyed the fresh forest air and morning birdsong. The chalet was beautifully furnished and comfortably warm from the underfloor heating, and the hostess was very friendly. We had a wonderful family stay and would gladly recommend it.
