Hotel Gasthof Adler

We’re a couple with a baby, and the stay left us more tired than rested. The welcome felt cold and impersonal. Staff tried opening several rooms to work out which one was ours. Some people there were kind and brought us a cot, bed rail, and diaper bin, but we were initially given a room with one single bed and one double bed, without any baby equipment, despite having a one-month-old. Be careful with reservations: the hotel apparently doesn’t take the child’s age into account, then blames you for choosing the room its online booking system suggested automatically. The rooms are very dated, the faucet is awkward to use, and the electrical outlets aren’t child-safe. Restaurant customers also occupied the parking spaces. The outdoor playground and toys in the common room are what make it family-friendly. For another 20-30€, some real family hotels offer much better value.

Breakfast was especially good, and the rest of the food was great too. The hotel has a clean, uncluttered look and sits in a perfect location. It was a pleasant stop on our hiking trip. The people running the place were very nice. The man we saw regularly was especially energetic and friendly; the woman we saw most often was nice too, though sometimes a little sharp. It didn’t take away from our stay. A quaint, very nice hotel, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

Our daughter had a lovely birthday here, with breakfast arranged and the table decorated so nicely. The staff were great with special needs and requests in general. Our children felt at home straight away, with plenty to do, from the playroom to children’s disco and bowling. Lovely people and great service.

The simple, elegant wooden furniture feels like a real treat after all those cluttered business hotels I have to move between. Such a beautiful place. I’ll definitely come back.
