Hotel Galtürerhof

We spent two weeks here and I wasn't disappointed once, especially with the consistently high quality of the food for a three star hotel. The rooms are simple, roomy, very clean, and have a lovely view and a big balcony. The beds are large and really comfortable for a hotel in this class. Walter, the chatty bartender with a larger-than-life personality, can make you any drink in no time and seems to know your life story by the end. His gins were better than 99% of the ones I've had in London and New York. Emily and Andreas, the owners, greet you warmly and are quick to help with any problems. The owner is also an expert skier and will take you practically anywhere in the mountains to find amazing skiing.

The rooms are basic, but clean, which helps keep the price reasonable. Every evening we had excellent food, fresh and different each day, with easygoing service from the very friendly Emily and Walter. We spent plenty of enjoyable evenings at the bar, where Walter served us well and chatted in German and English with us and the other guests. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our week-long ski holiday at Galtuerhof hotel. The rooms are simple, clean, and have what you need after a day outside in the beautiful nature of Paznaun Tal. They have safes and balconies. The views are lovely, and hiking starts just a few steps from the hotel, which sits near the edge of town. The bus is only two minutes away and goes to the ski areas and more hiking trails. We've already stayed twice this year, five days in August and a week around Christmas, and both holidays felt relaxing as soon as we walked in. The team, scenery, food, and homely atmosphere are wonderful. Emily, Daniel, and their team make sure guests feel at home in their family-run hotel. Daniel was born and raised in Galtür and gives great local advice. Emily notices the little details that make your day, and Fabian, Daniel’s brother, cooks delicious dinners. We looked forward to seeing the next day's choices, and they quickly took care of food needs, questions, and other requests. Thanks for a wonderful stay, Emily, Daniel & team!

The rooms are quiet and clean, and while the bathrooms are on the small side, the lovely wellness area more than makes up for that. The hotel is central but peaceful, just steps from the bus stop for the ski areas and from the village center. The owners are looking to raise the standard further with more investment. For the price, it deserves five stars. The family business and team at Galturerhof are great. Emily and Daniel make you feel welcome right from the entrance. After skiing, the bar and dinner area is a nice place to unwind, and bartender Walter is one of the best at keeping you entertained over Austrian beers, wines, or something from the international gin selection. Family member Fabien regularly exceeded expectations with well-prepared, nicely presented food, good variety, and decent portions.
