The reception and service staff were so welcoming. At check-in, I overheard someone mention a gluten intolerance, and the cheerful response was that they could get suitable pastries from the bakery for breakfast the next morning. That’s service! Our apartment was spacious, modern, and spotless, with daily housekeeping. Breakfast at the affiliated Hotel Zellerhof was a great buffet for €15. We hadn’t realized when booking that the hotel was about a 10-minute walk away, though the morning stroll was fine for us. The lake was about 15 minutes on foot, manageable even with small children. We had a wonderful weekend with friends.

The sauna is only open from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, which was practically useless for us. Even after asking, we got just one extra hour, and only with some leniency. The drink and snack machine hadn’t been restocked either. The room, sauna area, and fitness room are modern and very nice. The bathroom, though, is tiny, and the open shower floods it right away. Some of the towels were stained and all looked very worn.

The room and breakfast were fine, which makes the rest of this such a shame. Our two-apartment booking was downgraded without our consent, leaving six unrelated adults squeezed into one apartment. There was just one toilet and one shower, and two of us had to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. At night, the others had to walk through that room to get to the toilet, so you can imagine how restful it was. When we complained, the landlady was rude and basically said we could find another hotel if we didn’t like it. A disappointing holiday experience.

The mountain views from our double room at the Bergsee Apartment were fantastic, and it was absolutely quiet. I’d highly recommend it.

A nice, small wellness area.
