We had a great vacation :) The staff were super friendly and spoke English well. Our room was clean, cozy, and roomy enough for a winter ski trip. There are several ski areas within a 30-minute drive, and the spa centre is just 200 m from the hotel.

The nature around the place was breathtaking, and we came away having had a really nice stay. Our room was tidy, the facilities all worked, and the food was nice. The downsides were noise continuing well past 22:00, which kept our children from falling asleep, and weak Wi-Fi in the rooms. The owners seemed to prefer speaking German, though we were always able to get our messages across.

The room felt a bit dated, but for sleeping and eating it was great, especially since you're likely to be out hiking. Pension Hubertus is tucked away in the Austrian Alps, and I spent five days there in summer 2020. The family running it were very welcoming and nice, and communicating in English was no problem. I'd highly recommend staying here if you're coming to Malnitz.

The hosts' hospitality was a real highlight, and the food was generous and delicious. Our room was clean and tidy too. We stayed at the pension for a few days and will definitely come back.
