In response to the other reviews, I want to say plainly how I see this place. The family is friendly, and the gasthof has an authentic feel, but it still seems stuck in the seventies. It needs a fresh start next season. I'd move the dead wildlife on the walls somewhere away from the guests, replace the dated, multicoloured tablecloths and towels, and get rid of the 1970s furniture in the breakfast room. Breakfast needs a proper buffet instead of everything crowded together on a 50 cm space and mixed up. They should also think about healthy food. The place has the basics to succeed for the next 40 years under their daughter, but they need to move forward and leave the seventies behind.

It felt like a dream. The location is beautiful, the accommodation is stylish and cozy, and the owners are lovely and friendly. Simply amazing.

We felt so at ease on our first visit last year that we really wanted to come back this year. Everyone in the family, adults and kids alike 😉, is incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating. Our two-year-old loves it here too. Thanks so much, dear Lohninger family! We'll definitely be back next year 🥰

The family really goes out of its way to make you comfortable, and the view is magnificent. We spent three days at Tom's Almhütte farm for a wedding, travelling with our one-year-old, and would absolutely recommend it for families. Life there is wonderfully peaceful, the farm is lovely, and the family feels genuine. There are fresh eggs from their own bees in the morning, plus lots for children to play with and explore. Maria Alm is only a few minutes away by car. Highly recommended!
