The location is central, and there are lots of free attractions included with the hochkönig card. It was very clean, everyone was friendly, and it felt like great value. I'd definitely recommend it.

The owners were friendly, and the place is right in the village center. Skiers have the slopes less than five minutes away. Highly recommended.

The Natrun cable car into the Hochkönig ski area and the cross-country trail are only about two minutes away on foot. Shops, restaurants, and the lovely pilgrimage church in the village center are also easy to reach on foot. In summer, this quiet, sunny spot in the heart of Maria Alm works well as a base for mountain biking, hikes, and mountain tours, including routes to the Riemannhaus mountain hut, Sommerstein, the Steinernes Meer, the Hochkönig, and the Hundstein. The Sommerstein adventure pool is around a 10-minute walk away and is free with the Hochkönigcard. It's a cozy apartment building, and its central location is a real plus.

We've already reserved for next summer, though we couldn't get a place this winter because it was booked up. Our first stay in Maria Alm was in the "Sommerstein" holiday apartment, and it was spotless with enough room for 2-3 people. Mrs. Dankl was warm and accommodating, answered our questions right away, and sorted everything out. The Dankl family also put real care into the clear, attractive holiday brochure.
